The Fashion Industry has a considerable impact on economies and communities.
It contributes $ 2.4 trillion to global manufacturing and also to 8-10% of the worldwide greenhouse gas emissions and to 20% of global wastewater pollution.
Sustainability and ethical issues in the fashion industry are increasingly talked about together with words like safety, health and environment (SHE).
BUT WHAT DO THESE WORDS REALLY MEAN?
This is our call to African Fashion Designers to tell us what Sustainable and Ethical Fashion actually means to them
WHY A CALL TO AFRICAN FASHION DESIGNERS SPECIFICALLY?
Because they represent the new frontier of the Fashion industry.
Because, as designers, they have strong ideas about the world and its future.
And because most of them belong to a younger generation who considers environment and social issues as priorities.
So please, if you are an African fashion designer, we want to hear from you.
Send us your opinions by podcasts or videos.
We will collect and share them on our socials and report the feedback.
