Sometimes, three panels, a small paradox, and a smile are enough to make us look at something from a different perspective.
Thinking in Strips is The Thinking Watermill Society’s small corner dedicated to ideas expressed through cartoons: observations on time, change, human behaviour, and the small contradictions hidden in everyday life.
Our first two observers are unmistakably Roman.
Nasone is a Roman fountain. Water has been flowing in him for time immemorial, which may explain why he has developed a taste for questions about time, identity, and change.
Pignolo is a Roman stone pine. He observes the people rushing beneath his branches, notices the details that often escape them, and sometimes wonders about the oddities that human beings perform.
Nasone asks questions.
Pignolo notices contradictions.
Neither claims to have the answers.
But then again, Thinking in Strips is not meant to provide answers. It is an invitation to stop for a moment — and think.
