The Thinking Watermill Society contributed to the VII Interdisciplinary Study Days “Geography and…”, hosted by the University of Naples L’Orientale and dedicated this year to Geography and Migrations.
As part of the conference, the session “Migrant Entrepreneurship and Self-Entrepreneurship: The Impact on Society” was jointly proposed by Giovanni Carlo Bruno (CNR-IRISS), Mario Di Giulio (Adjunct Professor, Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma), and Caterina Luciani (The Thinking Watermill Society).
The session brought together different perspectives on migrant entrepreneurship and its economic and social impact, looking beyond participation in the labour market to consider entrepreneurship as a possible driver of integration, individual agency and transformation within host communities.
The initiative also continued the cooperation between The Thinking Watermill Society and CNR-IRISS on migration and social inclusion, strengthening the dialogue between independent research, academia and public research institutions.
