My name is Sophie Gai, a 23-year-old from Nairobi, Kenya. I am a lawyer by profession and run a sustainable fashion consultancy on Instagram called Sasstain. I believe in raising awareness of the need for ethical and sustainable fashion while advocating for human (in particular labour rights), environmental, and animal rights. In my opinion, sustainable fashion practices are one of the best ways to combat climate change aside from environmental conservation,
I am a green thumb and love animals. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats. I am fluent in four languages: English, Kiswahili, French, and Kenyan Sign Language. During my leisure time, I enjoy walking my dogs, visiting art galleries, gardening, and meeting up with friends.
Fun fact, the initials of my names are similar to those of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs. I guess that’s why I am so smitten by them.
