Livia Canepa is a consultant for the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in the Emergency and Fragile States Unit, as a focal point for several countries such as Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Central African Republic, among others.
Since 2016, after her Master’s degree in Asian and African Relations and Institutions, she has been working in cooperation projects for NGOs, national and international agencies, both in Italy and abroad. In particular, she spent three years as an Investment Promotion Expert in the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) following projects in various African countries.
Her professional skills focalise on development cooperation, humanitarian aid and gender equality with a particular focus on African countries. She also held a PhD in International Studies with a thesis on Global Value Chain and working conditions in Ethiopia.
